How far will you travel?
Marquees-Tipis-Tents are based in Mid Devon, we operate throughout the South West covering Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
When can I hire a marquee?
The main marquee hire season is from March to October but we still hire our marquees tipis tents and equipment out during the other four months of the year.
On what surface can a marquee be installed?
Our marquees Tipis and Tents are only erected on reasonably flat and level grass.
Do you charge VAT?
No, we are a small and new business and are not registered for VAT.
Is there a delivery charge?
The delivery charge depends on where you are. If you are in the Mid Devon area then there is no delivery charge. please view ‘Delivery Charges‘ page for further information.
The marquees and equipment are hired for 1 day. Does that mean they have to be erected and taken down on the same day?
No, we normally deliver and erect 1-3 days before the hire date, and collect 1-3 days after. We can not provide a specific delivery/collection date and time until 7 days before the hire date, during busy times we will be collecting the marquee/tent etc the day after your event date.
My event is longer than 1 day, are there additional hire charges?
Yes – Our standard hire rates (as listed) are for one day. If you would like to hire any equipment for longer, such as for festivals or weekend events, there is an additional daily charge of 25% per day. For example, one extra day is 25%, two extra days is 50% and so on. The extra hire charges do not include delivery/collection days, only the number of days you would like to use the equipment for.

Do the marquees come with walls?
Yes, we provide a set of window and blank walls for each type of marquee.
How do I make Payment?
You are able to pay online to secure your booking. Additional days for Marquees, Tipis and Tents are charged at 25%. We require a 25% deposit for your total order.
All final payments are due 30 days before your event date. Final payment can be made by bank transfer or cheque.
Is there a labour charge?
No, installation and dismantling of the marquee(s) tents, equipment etc. is included in the price.
When will you deliver/collect?
We will deliver 1-2 days before the hire date, and collect 1-2 days after. Due to the weather and other bookings we can not provide a specific delivery/collection day and time until 7 days before the hire date.
Will I need matting?
If you wish to protect your grass from wear and tear and avoid muddy ground, then we highly recommend that you hire our additional floor matting.
What if we need to Cancel?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you think you may need to cancel or reduce the size of your marquee. Depending on the timing of cancellation, charges may be incurred.
Do I need to cut the grass prior to your arriving with the marquee, tent etc?
Please cut the grass a few days before as low as you can, prior to the event.
Do you supply loos?
At present we do not hire loos, as we don’t like chemical loos. We will, at some time, be looking into hiring out compost loos.
Do you require a site plan?
Site plans should be provided if there are any pipes or cables above or underground that need to be avoided. If you have any concerns, please request a site visit and we can advise.
Can the equipment be set up and removed the same day?
Yes under some circumstances this can be arranged (say if you were to hire a village hall just for the day and are worried about leaving marquees, tents etc over night we can set up early and remove very late). Plenty of warning will be needed to prepare for this but we are happy to work around limited timings etc.
